{"id":130118,"date":"2025-11-18T13:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-11-18T18:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/riverheadnewsreview.timesreview.com\/?p=130118"},"modified":"2025-11-17T15:39:48","modified_gmt":"2025-11-17T20:39:48","slug":"peconic-landing-nursing-facilities-rank-among-nations-best","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/riverheadnewsreview.timesreview.com\/2025\/11\/130118\/peconic-landing-nursing-facilities-rank-among-nations-best\/","title":{"rendered":"Peconic Landing nursing facilities rank among nation&#8217;s best"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The nursing facilities at Peconic Landing, one of Southold Town\u2019s largest employers, earned top ratings from U.S. News &amp; World Report \u2014 a distinction achieved by fewer than one in five nursing homes nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Bluffs, Peconic Landing\u2019s short-term rehabilitation center, and The Shores, its skilled nursing facility, were both recognized among the \u201cBest Nursing Homes\u201d for 2026, according to rankings released Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>U.S. News evaluated more than 15,000 nursing homes by looking at care quality, safety, infection rates, staffing levels, health inspections and resident outcomes. New measures added this year include weekend staffing and infection rates, metrics that reveal how facilities perform when administrative staff are off-site and during clinical emergencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the 14,751 nursing homes evaluated nationwide, only 2,739, or 19%, earned the \u201cHigh Performing\u201d designation in either short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, or both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are incredibly proud to have both The Bluffs and The Shores recognized at the highest level,\u201d said Robert J. Syron, president and CEO of Peconic Landing, said in a statement.&nbsp;\u201cThis achievement speaks to the remarkable dedication of our team members, who show unwavering commitment to compassionate, person-centered care.
